Cookie Policy

Effective Date: May 9, 2026
Website: hoaxeye.net

This Cookie Policy explains how hoaxeye uses cookies and similar technologies when you visit our website or use our Services.

Scope. This page covers browser-side technologies (cookies, local storage, session storage, similar identifiers) used by the hoaxeye website and dashboard. Server-side security analyses run by hoaxeye on a Customer's FiveM server — including the heuristic resource-code analysis (Section 2h of our Privacy Policy), server-telemetry collection (Section 2i) and the network-protection layer (Section 2j) — do not rely on browser cookies or trackers and are not within the scope of this Cookie Policy. They are addressed in the Privacy Policy and the Data Processing Agreement.

1. What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They help recognize your device, store preferences, and support website functionality. Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, and pixel tags.

2. Categories of Cookies We Use

We group cookies and similar technologies into four categories that match the options in our consent banner:

a) Strictly Necessary

Required for the site to operate. They enable core features such as authentication, session management, and security (including detection of authentication abuse, protection against cross-site request forgery, and maintaining session integrity). These cannot be disabled and do not require consent.

b) Functional

Enable enhanced functionality and personalisation, such as remembering your choices, preferences, and continuity across sessions. May be set by us or by third-party providers whose services we use on our pages. Set only with your consent.

c) Performance

Help us understand how visitors interact with the site by collecting information in an aggregated form, such as page visits, traffic sources and general usage patterns. This data is used to improve the site and the Services. Set only with your consent.

d) Targeting

May be set through our site by advertising partners to build a profile of your interests and show relevant content elsewhere. Currently not in use on hoaxeye; the category exists so that your preference is respected if we ever enable such features. Set only with your consent.

3. Third-Party Cookies

Some cookies may be set by third-party services integrated into our website, such as analytics providers, payment processors, or support tools. These third parties may use cookies according to their own privacy and cookie policies.

4. Cookie Duration

  • Session cookies: Deleted when you close your browser.
  • Persistent cookies: Remain on your device for a defined period or until manually deleted.

5. Managing Cookies

In-product consent manager. You can reopen our cookie consent banner at any time via the "Cookie Settings" button in the footer of every page. The banner gives you the same options (Reject All / Allow All / Confirm My Choices) as on first visit, so withdrawing or changing consent is just as easy as giving it (Art. 7 para. 3 GDPR).

Consent record. Your choice is stored locally in your browser as a JSON record under the key hoaxeye_consent_v1 (category Strictly Necessary) and contains: the chosen values per category, a Unix timestamp, and the version of the consent record. We respect that record for up to 12 months from the timestamp; after that period, or on any material change to the categories or purposes, the banner is shown again so you can confirm or adjust. A version bump of the record triggers a re-prompt immediately.

Browser controls. Independently of the in-product manager, you can delete cookies through your browser settings. Please note that disabling certain cookies may affect the functionality of the website and Services.

Most browsers allow you to:

  • View and delete existing cookies
  • Block cookies from specific or all websites
  • Set preferences for first-party and third-party cookies
  • Enable notifications when cookies are set

6. Consent

Where required by applicable law, we will obtain your consent before setting non-essential cookies. You may withdraw consent at any time via the "Cookie Settings" button in the footer or by clearing your browser storage. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal.

7. Changes to This Cookie Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. The revised version will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
